USAO Foundation

Purpose and Mission

The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma Foundation, Inc. (“the Foundation”) is an Oklahoma non-profit corporation, created pursuant to Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and operated exclusively for the benefit of the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (“USAO”).

The Foundation is responsible for the receipt, control, stewardship, and management of all private gifts of any kind, given to support USAO’s educational programs,  goals and strategic plans. The Foundation is an active and prominent participant in all of USAO’s strategic planning pertaining to the use of the Foundation’s managed assets. The Foundation, through its Board of Trustees, is the exclusive conduit for the receipt, withdrawal, and distribution of the Foundation’s managed assets. At all times, the control and management of Foundation assets shall be in accordance with donor intent, prudent management practices, and the investment policies and procedures of the Foundation.

The role of the Foundation in USAO affairs shall include creating and maintaining an environment conducive to increasing levels of private support and growing the asset base of the Foundation for the long-term support of USAO.

The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma Foundation, Inc., was organized in 1974 and incorporated by the State of Oklahoma as a non-profit corporation in 1977. It is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c) (3) tax exempt organization. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees.
